Dun Laoghaire Youth Centre

BSc(Arch) Project

The dancing, almost colliding building forms are held apart by the circulation space- an extension of George Street. The barn-like hall, resonant of the Irish hay shed or a traditional parochial hall, gives the building suitable scale and atmosphere for Dun Laoghaire town. A long, thin wing pays homage to the iconic Dun Laoghaire piers. Public Meeting Steps provide a focal point for the community.
